World premiere of a documentary theatre production examining migrant labor and the act of representation itself.
Premiered in Turkey and staged at Moda Sahne, DasDas, and Arter, the work centers on four undocumented migrant women employed in an unprotected textile workshop beneath the city. Erased from official records and public consciousness, their lives move toward a tragic end shaped by systemic neglect.
Written and directed by Yusuf Onur Aydın, the production is set within the rehearsal process of a theatre company attempting to stage this very tragedy. The performers expose their own vulnerabilities, labor conditions, and personal histories alongside the story they are constructing. By collapsing rehearsal and performance, reality and reenactment, the piece questions whether trauma can be represented, who has the right to represent it, and whether theatre can ever escape the structures it seeks to critique.
